Mushroom hunting is an elusive sport.  Unfortunately, we have had terrible weather this week, sunny and clear instead of gray and rainy.  Therefore, the tentatively scheduled wild mushroom walk will instead be an indoor classroom presentation.

Fresh mushrooms that were picked and refrigerated earlier this week will be on hand as well as images of the common local mushrooms.  Learn about the edible mushrooms that can be found in this area as well as the most toxic ones that should be avoided at all costs.

The program will be led by Rachel Edelstein who is not a mycologist or any kind of -ologist, just a mushroom lover who has been collecting and  cooking wild mushrooms in Flagstaff for over ten years without incident.
