Welcome to the Arboretum at Flagstaff!

Surrounded by ponderosa forest at 7,150 feet in elevation with spectacular views of the San Francisco Peaks, The Arboretum at Flagstaff is a unique destination, specializing in increasing the understanding, appreciation and conservation of plants native to the Colorado Plateau. Home to 750 species of plants, the beautiful 200-acre property consists of display gardens, greenhouses, open space and woodland trails that are family and pet friendly. The Arboretum also hosts a number of special events, plant sales, wedding and facility rentals, youth and adult classes as well as features local artist works in our gift shop. Plan to visit us in 2024!

Once the home of our founder Frances McAllister, see below for a map of our grounds and features you will encounter during your visit. With over 750 species of plants and countless wildlife, take a leisurely stroll through our beautiful 200-acre property which consists of historic buildings, gardens, greenhouses, wetlands, and forests. Interpretive signage about the ecology of the region, encounters with wildlife and photo ops occur throughout our several miles of family and pet friendly trails. Be sure to take a memorable photo at The Discover Flagstaff photo frame with the iconic San Francisco Peaks as a backdrop!

Up to 250 guests can enjoy a beautiful natural setting with San Francisco Peaks as the backdrop. Ceremonies, receptions, and rehearsal dinners to make your day incredible.

The Arboretum offers your guests the beauty and tranquility of being surrounded by the Coconino National Forest, while still offering modern amenities for comfort.

Meetings and Retreats

The Walter Reichardt House is the 1960s-era home of Arboretum founder Frances McAllister. It was renovated in 2007, and can host groups of up to 50 people.

Over 130 bird species have been recorded at The Arboretum. Join us for a morning walk and add to your list.

Wildflower Walks

Join the knowledgeable Arboretum staff on a moring walk through the gardens and explore the colorful varieties of native Northern Arizona wildflowers.
