I work with recycled, locally sourced glass and metal to craft whimsical up-cycled garden flowers for both outdoor and indoor display. I have been doing so for four years after many years of university teaching in biology. In addition, I am a published biological illustrator working in watercolor and pen and ink. Currently, I create flowers three-dimensionally and strive to make them as “botanically correct” as the medium allows.
The flowers are in gardens throughout the country; notably one planted along the Grand Canyon portion of the Colorado River in the Havasupai Indian Reservation.
No two flowers are alike and amusingly attract a variety of birds and butterflies.
